Special investigations have been carried out concerning these deaths and of the 28 cases investigated the following were the conditions notified as the cause of death.

PUERPERAL PYREXIA.
During the year, four cases of Puerperal Pyrexia were notified,
two of which were removed to Hospital.
MATERNAL MORTALITY.
There was one maternal death resulting from Pregnancy;
the mother died in an Institution.
SUPERVISION OF NURSING HOMES.
The Nursing Homes in the district were inspected regularly
by the Medical Officers.
