CONVALESCENT TREATMENT.
Three children were sent away to a Convalescent Home; also
three mothers.
ORTHOPAEDIC TREATMENT.
Advice and/or treatment was provided for 20 children needing
orthopaedic care.
DIPHTHERIA IMMUNISATION.
During the year 2,644 children under the age of five years were
immunised against diphtheria.
In order to estimate the percentage of the under five population
immunised I made certain enquiries during the year and from these
I obtained the following information.
No. of children under 5 years of age in Enfield 7151
No. of children on the books of the Health Visitor 6930
No. of children under the age of one year 1399
No. of children between the ages of 1 and 5 years 5531
No. of children immunised by the end of 1942 4245
Percentage of children between the ages of 1 and 5
immunised. 76.7
