It will be seen that the cost of milk is £555 18s. 8½d. less than
that supplied in 1933. This saving to the Council has not been
at the expense of the mothers and children who have needed its
help, but is due to increased prosperity and lessening of unemployment.
Wherever help has been necessary, the Health Visitors
have not hesitated to advise mothers to apply for it. I am satisfied
that the maternity and child welfare benefits are well known in the
district.

under the above scheme during the year:—
