PUBLIC MORTUARY.
One public mortuary in the District, established at the Enfield
Highway Cemetery, is constantly under supervision.
RATS.
Though the duty of the destruction of these pests is, under
the Rats and Mice (Destruction) Act, one for the occupier of the
premises, we are constantly asked to assist various householders,
and this help has always readily been given.
In many cases it entails a considerable amount of time and
work to obtain an effectual clearance of rats.
The staff of the Department remains as in the previous year,
but it is not really large enough to meet with the full requirementsof
the District.
This Report would not be complete unless I again state how
much I appreciate the kindly manner in which Dr. Geffen, your
Medical Officer of Health, has always treated both myself and the
staff and the happy conditions under which we work. I also wish
to thank the Council for their continued courtesy and support, and
all the members of the Public Health Staff for the very competent
manner in which they have carried out their duties, and for their
help during the past year.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
FRED. WILSON, M.R.San.I., M.S.I.A.,
Chief Sanitary Inspector.
