The following work was carried out:—
Miss Newbegin—5 demonstrations at Bush Hill Park, and
2 at Ponders End.
Miss Garlick—3 demonstrations at Chesterfield Road.
Miss Durrans—1 demonstration at Lavender Road, and 1 at
Chase Side.
At these demonstrations our senior girls are shewn the proper
and scientific method of clothing and bathing a baby. It must
be remembered in Enfield this duty often devolves on girls of the
ages of 13 and 14.
These demonstrations are very much liked and appreciated,
and immense interest is shown in this very important matter.
I can imagine no better method of securing right ideas as to the
upbringing of babies by the young mothers of Enfield than by
dealing with the matter among young girls of this impressionable
age, and I look for increased work in this direction.
I hope that many more Head Teachers will come forward with
requests for these demonstrations.
