I made a careful examination of the udders and found them,
generally, free from disease. A small number were affected with
the usual abnormalities incidental to milch cows, and where
necessary 1 made a bacteriological examination of the milk but
none were affected with Tubercle bacillus. Two cows were reported
to me by the owners as being suspected of having Tuberculous
udders, but on examination they proved to be free from that disease.
The herds in general were in good condition and appeared to
be satisfactorily kept.
I am, dear Sir,
Yours obediently,
(Signed) H. H. Hide.
T. W. Scott, Esq.
With regard to the two cows referred to in the Veterinary
Surgeon's May report, both were slaughtered and the carcases disposed
of by burying them in lime.
The Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1922.
Four samples of milk were taken during the year and submitted
for analysis. These were all found to be satisfactory.
