The deaths occurred in the several wards as follows:—

Sixty-five of the deaths registered were those of persons over
80 years of age, 25 being males and 40 females, one woman and one
man dying at the advanced ages of 97.
The more important causes of deaths as registered were:—
Influenza 72; Heart Disease 69; Malignant Disease 69; Bronchitis
60; Pulmonary Tuberculosis 49; Old Age 47; Pneumonia 39;
Apoplexy 34; Other Respiratory Diseases 22; Bright's Disease 14;
whilst among the children Premature Birth accounted for 16 deaths;'
Respiratory Diseases 8; Atrophy, Debility and Marasmus 7;
Enteritis 4, and Congenital Malformations 4.

Thirty-three inquests were held in Enfield during the year, and the verdicts given were as follows:—
