DEATHS.

We have, however, to suppose that the age and sex constitution of the population of Enfield is identical with that of England and Wales as enumerated at the census of 1911, for which purpose the recorded death-rate must be multiplied by a "factor for correction" supplied by the Registrar-General, viz.: 1.0348, and this gives the standardized death-rate of 10.27.
