SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICE
The administration of the School Health Service continues to
be a function of Middlesex County Council. Broadly speaking,
arrangements for medical examinations, etc., are delegated to the
local Education Divisional Executive, while treatment and disposal
are the responsibility of the local Area Health Committee.
It is interesting to note that the school population served by
this department has more than doubled in 20 years.

As required by the Ministry of Education pupils are classified
as "A" (above average), "B" (Average), or "C " (below average).
It is an expression of the examining doctor's opinion of each pupil's
general physical and mental make-up. It has little value, then,
as a scientifically accurate assessment.
