In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of
Agriculture & Fisheries, Infestation Control Division, maintenance
treatments of the soil sewers in the Borough were carried out
during January and July.
A total of 1,068 sewer manholes were dealt with and of these
422 were found to be rat infested. Poison Baits were used in
the infested manholes and from observations of the takes, it was
evident that the number of rats in the Ealing sewers must have
been considerably reduced.
