Scarlet Fever.—Of the 166 cases of scarlet fever only 55
cases were removed to hospital. Since the outbreak of war accommodation
for cases of scarlet fever in the Isolation Hospital has
been much reduced and only in exceptional circumstances have
cases been admitted. There were no deaths from the disease.
Diphtheria.—All but one of the 48 cases of diphtheria were
removed to hospital. There were 4 deaths from this disease.
Diphtheria immunization.—The protection of children by means
of immunization is considered on page 26.
