The causes of deaths of infants in 1927 are indicated in Table III,
in which the causes of deaths in 1927 are compared with those in
the preceding eight years. In Table III a the causes of death,
and the ages at which death occurred "amongst children under
twelve months old, are indicated. It is noteworthy that 47, or
63 per cent, of the total 74 infant deaths occurred under four
weeks old, and 40, or 54 per cent. of the total, under one week
old.
