A new school is required for the added area of Greenford,
the present school being quite inadequate to deal with the children
seeking admission, who have to be accommodated for the time being
in the Village Hall. The site has been selected and building operations,
it is hoped, will begin at an early date.
Medical Inspection.
Medical inspection was carried out at all the schools in the old
Borough. Medical inspection in the schools in Hanwell and.
Greenford, which had not been completed for the year by the
Middlesex County Council, could not be undertaken on account
of the lack of sufficient staff.
The inspections carried out at the schools in the Borough
embraced the following groups:—
1. Routine Inspection as required by the Board of Education
as follows:—
(a) Entrants.—All children admitted'tcr school during the
year.
(b) Intermediates—All children eight years of age or
reaching that age before the end of the year.
(c) Leavers—Children who are twelve or who will be
twelve before the end of the year, together with
those over that age not previously examined.
2. Non-routine inspections as follows :—
(a) Children not in the aforementioned routine groups
who are presented by the head-teachers for examination
for some defect or suspected defect.
(b) Children requiring supervision on account of some
defect found at a previous routine or non-routine
examination.
