The causes of deaths of infants in 1926 are indicated in Table III
in which the causes of deaths in 1926 are compared with those in
the preceding seven years. In Table IIIa the causes of death,
and the ages at which death occurred amongst children under twelve
months old, are indicated. It is noteworthy that prematurity
and atrophy, delibity and marasmus accounted for half of all the
infant deaths.
