Births.
The number of births registered as belonging to the
district during the year was 1,018, consisting of 525
males and 493 females. From this number the birthrate
is calculated as 13.3 per 1,000 of population, the
population on which this calculation is made being that
supplied by the Registrar General of 76,265.
The birth-rate for Ealing is very low compared with
that for England and Wales, as indicated in the
following table, where the. rate is compared with that
for England and Wales, and with those for the 96
Great Towns and for London.
