CARE OF MOTHERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN
Ante-natal and post-natal care
Ante-natal care and post-natal examinations are carried out at the sessions held at
the various centres listed below. During the year 554 expectant mothers attended for
ante-natal care, and 146 for post-natal examination. Doubtless some of the mothers
who have attended for ante-natal clinics are examined post-natally by their general practitioners,
but even allowing for this there must be many mothers who do not appreciate
the importance of the post-natal examination. Continued efforts are required to encourage
mothers to avail themselves of this service.
