1 Hermitage Convalescent Home, Hastings.
4 Friendly Society Convalescent Home, Herne Bay.
1 Samuel Lewis Home, Walton.
2 All Saints Convalescent Hospital, Eastbourne.
34 Bell Memorial Home, Lancing.
10 T.B. cases placed by Spero.
5 St. Joseph's Convalescent Home, Bournemouth.
3 Surrey Convalescent Home, Seaford.
1 Armitage House, Worthing.
1 Victoria Convalescent Home, Bognor Regis.
Section 22: 2 Mothers with children—Shoreditch Holiday Home.
3 Mothers with children—Lennox House, Southsea.
2 Children at Stamford Hill Home, Thorpe Bay.
School Health Service
As in previous years, convalescent holidays for school children were arranged in
conjunction with the Invalid Children's Aid Association. 77 school children were
admitted to recuperative holiday homes during the year.
Most of the cases referred by the medical officers and general practitioners for
convalescent holidays are children from homes showing economic or social stress, and
few only of the children are sent on purely medical grounds.
Dagenham Children's Care Committee
Seaford Holiday Centre
Two parties of school children went to St. Mary's Bay Holiday Centre, Romney
Marsh, Kent for a holiday during the summer. 78 children attended the centre this
year. The arrangements are made by the Dagenham Children's Care Committee and all
children are examined at the clinics before they leave for their holiday.
Camp Schools
37 children were examined by school medical officers before being admitted or readmitted
to camp schools.
School Journeys
52 children were examined by the school medical officer respecting their fitness to
proceed on a visit to Belgium.
