HEALTH EDUCATION
Once more I have to report a busy year as far as health education was concerned,
although it has not yet been possible to give organised courses in health education as I
said last year.
It is very important that we should make health education our subject and not
disease education. Occasionally we find that we have to educate in disease but we must
be careful that we are not carried away by our enthusiasm and allow ourselves to be
side-tracked into too much discussion about disease. The promotion and maintenance
of health must remain our aims.
Each member of the staff is encouraged to engage in health education as an integral
part of his or her daily work. The Council agreed to the appointment of an additional
public health inspector whose main duties would be to organise and develop health
education in the Borough.
The following is the diary of talks given to local organisations during the year:—
