The traders have continued to co-operate and in all cases dealt with during the
year informal action secured compliance with the regulations.
The inspectors in their regular visits to food premises seek opportunities through
discussions with the staff to inculcate hygienic practices in food handling. In addition

use their homes for the peeling of onions. The Housing Committee informed the
tenants that such work was considered a breach of the Council's regulations and conditions
of tenancy. The applications for registration were, therefore, abandoned.
