Tuberculosis Clinic.
A Tuberculosis Clinic is held every Monday and
Thursday morning at the King George Hospital OutPatient
Department. A Tuberculosis Officer of the EssexCounty
Council is in attendance.
Venereal Diseases.
In addition to facilities at the London Hospital
under arrangement with the London and Home Counties
Scheme, a treatment centre has been established at Oldchurch
Hospital and the clinic is open daily for treatment,.
9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sundays 10 to 12 noon.
Orthopaedic Clinics.
By arrangement with the Essex County Council,
children who fall under the provisions of our Maternity
and Child Welfare Scheme are referred to the Orthopaedic
Surgeon; an allocation of costs is made which is based
on the proportion of attendances of school children and
those under five years of age.
Remedial Exercises and Massage Clinic.
Two sessions are held weekly at the Five Elms
School, namely, on Monday and Thursday mornings.
Professional Nursing in the Home.
General.
The Dagenham District Nursing Association is the
only organisation operating in this district. The nurses
undertake midwifery and maternity nursing, and in
addition medical and surgical cases are attended.
A total of 443 general nursing cases was treated
during the year, involving 10,815 visits to the homes. 335
midwifery cases and 41 maternity cases were nursed.
