The attendances at both Infant Welfare Centres
and Ante-Natal Clinics remained high during the early
part of 1939. A scheme for increasing the numbers of
these clinics and consequently the medical, nursing and
clerical staff was approved, but owing to special circumstances,
the putting into operation of this scheme was
delayed.
