ST. CHRISTOPHER'S SCHOOL FOR EDUCATIONALLY
SUB-NORMAL CHILDREN
Mr. Grice the Headmaster reports:-
(1) Organisation
(a) The provision of an electric kiln has seen the introduction of
pottery as an extra craft subject in the curriculum,
(b) The extensive programme of Educational Visits commenced last
year has been continued and increased. In addition to all the
visits undertaken in the London Area the two Senior classes paid
a visit to Dieppe on July 17th.
(2) Building Improvements
Shower Baths for the girls were installed during the year and the
existing ones for the boys improved
(3) School Functions
(a) Parents Day was held most successfully on July 3rd. Every child
in the School 1b d a visitor.
(b) The Annual Sports took place on Thursday. July 11th.
(c) The School Harvest Festival was held on September 26th. An increased
number of parents attended this year and joined in our
service of thanks. As a result, 56 food parcels were made up and
delivered to old people in the district by the Senior Pupils.
(d) The Annual Carol Service was held on December llth, at which
all the lessons were read by pupils.
(4) The Old Scholars Club
Held its third Birthday Party on October 7th. The Club continues to
flourish and old pupils continue to obtain re-assurance, encouragement
and advice during the difficult period of adjustment to working
conditions.
(51 The Parents Association
Held a New Year Party for the children on January 26th. The
children greatly enjoyed themselves and the Punch and Judy Show and
Conjuror proving to be most popular. In addition each child received a
present.
We are also very grateful to the parents for providing three dozen
rose bushes for the planting of a new rose bed in the school grounds.
