ST. LUKE'S SCHOOL FOR THE PARTIALLY SIGHTED
Miss Randle, the Headmistress, reports steady progress
throughout the year in all school activities. The emphasis, as
in other years, was on individual teaching which is particularly
necessary for the children who are handicapped, mentally or
physically, in addition to being partially sighted.
The children who attended the Swimming Baths all made very
good progress under the kindly and helpful direction of the
Swimming Instructor now appointed to the Baths. Apart from the'
physical benefit, the children have gained very much in selfconfidence.
The formation of a School Library has enabled the children
to have a wider variety of reading material, the selection of
books being suited to their needs as regards the clarity of
print.
Two boys who left during the year both found suitable
employment.
