There were 3 deaths, compared with 2 in 1950. The maternal
mortality rate was 0.81 per 1,000 births, compared with 0.53 in
1950. The deaths were caused by—
(1) Pulmonary embolism, p.m.
(2) Pulmonary embolism.
(3) Toxaemia of pregnancy, p.m.
