The most noticeable trend in the Speech Clinic in 1950 has
probably been the large number of organic cases referred for
treatment. Functional cases still predominate, but far more
specialist hospitals seem to be asking for local clinical facilities
for their patients. The proportion of stammerers to the case
treated has been less than for some years.
