Provision of Public Laboratory.
The report for 1924 gave particulars of an arrangement made
with the Croydon General Hospital for the joint provision of a
laboratory and of a pathologist; the laboratory to be for the
examination of specimens in connection with infectious disease, and
also material sent in by practitioners for diagnosis in connection
with insured persons or their dependents; the pathologist to
be available for consultation with practitioners at the homes of
their patients.
Progress was made during the year with the preparation of
plans and with the commencement of the new building for the
purpose. It is hoped that this will be completed and the work of
the laboratory begun by March, 1927.
