I have to record with the warmest appreciation the voluntary
help given for a considerable part of the year by Mrs. Childs—help
which has been invaluable to Miss Batson in carrying on the work
of the clinic.
The Committee also gratefully accepted the voluntary services
proferred early in January, 1926, by Miss Voss, a trained masseuse,
in connection with this clinic; and her assistance is proving of the
greatest advantage to the clinic.
(c) Breathing Class.—A breathing class is also held by Miss
Batson in the same room as the above-named clinics, 170 children
attending during the year. The class has a very important place
in establishing the habit of healthy breathing required to confirm
the immediate benefit conferred by the operation for the removal
of adenoids.
(d) Other Classes.—A " flat-foot " class has been held during
the year, as has also a " crawling " class, the latter attended bv
children with comparatively slight degrees of spinal curvature.
Arrangements were made during the year for a regular course
of massage and remedial exercises to be given at the School for
Physically Defective Children opened early in the year in Winterbourne
Road.
Orthopaedic Scheme.—It is satisfactory to be able to report
that the Orthopaedic Scheme referred to in my last report was
approved by the Council and came into operation during the year.
