MENTAL DEFICIENCY.
CONTRACTS.
Contracts for the reception of Croydon defectives have now been
entered into as follows:—

CASES DEALT WITH.
In Appendix I. are shewn the cases that have been dealt with to
the 31st December last, either by transfer to Certified Institutions
or by placing under Guardianship. Two "criminal" defectives were
sent to Institutions by Orders of the Court, and three defectives
were sent to Institutions and two placed under Guardianship by
Orders upon Petitions presented at the instance of the Council.
In February the Lady Visitor on the Staff who had up till then
been on half-time, was appointed a full-time Visitor for mental
deficiency work.
The following is the number of mental defectives known by medical examination in the Borough:—
