I have also prepared the following table to show the age at
which ringworm of the scalp usually begins: —

It is important to note that of the 265 children affected no less
than 147 were under seven years of age, and that the largest group
of children was of the age of six. The figures show that if children
escape ringworm in the infants school there is a considerable
prospect of their escaping altogether, and that the number attacked
after 12 years is inconsiderable. The table further suggests the
importance of examining the older infants and also offers some
important suggestions for treatment, which 1 propose dealing with
elsewhere.
TREATMENT OF EYE DEFECTS
During 1910 Mr. Wray attended on one morning a week at the
Town Hall. Children for whom glasses were required were advised
to obtain them from Mr. J. F. Wolfle, who arranged with the
Committee to supply school children at the following prices:—
Spectacles with spherical lenses 1/9
„ „ piano-cylindrical lenses 2/9
,, sphero-cylindrical lenses 3/9
