MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE FACILITIES.
Under the National Health Service Act, 1946, the
Maternity and Child Welfare Services were transferred
to the Kent County Council on the 5th July, 1948.
The statistics given under these services are from
1st January to 5th July, 1948. No figures are available
to us after the appointed day.
Ante-Natal Clinics.
One session per week was held at the Council's
Ante-Natal Clinic, at the Town Hall.
Total number of Expectant Mothers who attended 232
Number attending for the first time 157
Total number of attendances made 760
Number of Post Natal examinations 21
X-Rays.
6 Expectant Mothers were referred to the County
Hospital for X-Ray examination.
Obstetric Consultant.
Abnormalities in connection with Maternity Cases
were recommended for examination when necessary, to the
Council's Obstetric Consultant at Guy's Hospital.
Infant Welfare Clinics.
