During 1958 there were 263 lettings as follows:
(a) Permanent dwellings125families from waiting list.
(b) Prefabricated dwellings28families from waiting list.

The figure of 263 lettings includes 110 transfers which have
been affected from various types of Council controlled property.
During the year 17 families have been admitted to the Halfway
Houses.

During the year, 39 properties have been released from
requisition and 4 temporary bungalows on the Chalk Pit Estate
were demolished in connection with the permanent development
now taking place.
MOVEABLE DWELLINGS.
With the clearance of caravans from the Corke's Meadow site
in 1957, the total number of families using moveable dwellings
showed a large decline.
The principal problem now centres on the encampment at
Chalk Pit, Ruxley, which was first used for this purpose during the
last war, by dwellers from Corke's Meadow.
