declared a Clearance Area have now been demolished by the
owner.

Clearance Area, have been purchased by the Council and site
cleared.

unfit, have been demolished by the owner.
1957 Programme.

be individually unfit houses, were closed by agreement of the owner
and have since been demolished.
Rose Cottage and Nutley Cottage, High Street, Footscray,
declared to be individually unfit, were closed by agreement with
the owner.
5, Cray Road, Footscray, was declared to be unfit and closed
by agreement with the owner.
19 and 20, Garden Cottages, Footscray, scheduled for the 1957
programme, have been improved by the owner and are being kept
under observation.
Additional to the programme, 16 and 17 Mill Place,
Chislehurst, were dealt with the former by demolition and the
latter by a Closing Order.
1958 Programme.
The twelve houses known as 1-12, School Cottages, Church
Road, Footscray, were declared a Clearance Area and negotiations
are in progress for purchase from the owner.
HOUSING ACT, 1949.
During the year, 62 applications for Improvement Grants were
received and 32 Grants were made. The large majority of cases
concerned the provisions of a bathroom and hot water supply, in
premises lacking such amenities.
The total amount of the works concerned amounted to £14,515,
whilst the sum of grants came to £6,575.
