SWIMMING BATHS AND POOLS.
There is one small swimming bath which is open to the
public.
During the year one sample of the water was examined
by the County Analyst, and this proved satisfactory.
ERADICATION OF BED BUGS.
During the year the following number of houses were
found to be infested with bed bugs:—
Council houses 5
Other houses 23
In all cases the houses were sprayed with lethane content
insecticide.
NURSING FACILITIES.
The Nursing facilities for the District are provided by the
local Nursing Associations.
NURSING AND MATERNITY HOMES.
The powers under the Public Health Act, 1936 have been
delegated to this Council by the County Council.
There are seven registered premises within the District,
which provide 26 beds for maternity cases and 15 for other
cases.
AMBULANCE SERVICE.
The General Purposes Ambulance Service is administered
by the Council.
Accident, maternity and private cases are dealt with.
During the year the ambulance and car were used as
follows:—
Accidents. Matornity. Private. Ambulance called but not used. Calls dealt with by other authorities. Sitting case car. Total.
