REPORT OF THE CHIEF SANITARY AND SHOPS ACTS
INSPECTOR
For the Year ended 31st December, 1937.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour of submitting a Report on the Sanitary
and Shops Acts inspection carried out in the District during
the year ended 31st December, 1937.
1. Inspections— General.
A total of 6,431 inspections were made during the year as follow:—

2. Complaints.
362 complaints were received and investigated. Where
necessary, appropriate action was taken. They were as
follow:—
192 re general sanitary defects
10 keeping of animals
31 offensive accumulations
23 verminous premises
