Foods.—Action taken under the Food and Drugs Act is detailed in
the Sanitary Inspector's Report.
Dairies, Cowsheds, etc.—The premises have been frequently inspected
and have generally been found satisfactory. One name has been
added to the register.
Regulations made under the 1885 Order have been in force in this
District since 1903.
There are now 17 persons (occupying premises in the District) on the
Register:—

Slaughter-houses.—Application was received for a licence in regard
to a slaughter-house which it was proposed to open at Cray Road, Foots
Cray. I inspected the premises and advised the Council to grant the
licence. All three slaughter-houses have been regularly inspected, and it
has not been necessary to report any nuisances.
Housing, Town Planning, etc., Act, 1909.—Owing to the
difficulty of carrying on the work of inspections under this Act with the
present limited staff, and also on account ot the general shortage of labour
and high prices ruling for building materials, it was decided to discontinue
the inspections for the time being, and only two houses have been inspected
during 1915, particulars of which will be found in Mr. Capon's report.
The number of houses inspected under this Act since it came into force
is as follows:—
1911 104
1912 173
1913 233
1914 52
1915 2
