Two samples of whisky were found to be inferior in quality;
one containing 1.4 percent. and the other 8 percent. of excess
water.
During the year 44 examinations were also made by the County
Inspector of the weights of coal, all of which were found correct.
Water Sampling. During the year 3 samples of water were
taken for analysis; one for chemical examination and two for
bacteriological examination. These samples were forwarded to the
County Laboratory, and from the Reports of the County Analyst
it would appear that the water supply of this District is on the whole
satisfactory.
House Refuse Removal. The collection of the house refuse
by our own workmen has again worked well, and the refuse has
been collected regularly from the inhabited houses.
The total number of loads of refuse removed during the past
year was 2,289½.
Petroleum. Ten persons were licensed during the year for the
Storage of Petroleum in respect of amounts varying from 50 to
1,000 gallons. About 25 visits have been made in connection with
the Private Petroleum and Traders Stores.
Carbide of Calcium. Three persons were licensed for the
Storage of Carbide of Calcium in respect of amounts varying from
112 to 336 lbs.
