Food Poisoning
17 cases were notified compared with 10 in 1968. In all
except one instance the illnesses were due to organisms of the
Salmonella group. In the remaining case the causative organism
was not isolated. Full details are given in the tables below, from
which it can be seen that there were no general outbreaks of food
poisoning, all the cases being isolated ones except for a single
instance in which two members of the same household were
affected.

Infective Jaundice
This was the first full year during which Infective Jaundice
has been notifiable. 39 notifications were received, there being no
deaths from this cause. The general pattern of the infection has
been of sporadic cases.
