The number of cases notified is higher than that
of a year ago, and I regard this as being due to the introduction
of the Public Health (Tuberculois) Regulations,
1924, 52 specimens of sputum were forwarded from this
District, to the County Laboratory for the purpose of
Bacteriological examination.
The number of specimens forwarded in 1924 was 25.
The Kent County Council administer the Tuberculois
Scheme for this Area, and apart from the keeping of the
Register, the supply of disinfectants, the disinfection
of infected premises, and periodical visits by the Health
Visitor, your Health Department, have little responsibility
in the matter. 459 visits were paid during the year
by the Health Visitors to persons suffering from this
disease.
