Unsound Food.
There continues to exist the closest co-operation between the
Vendors of food and the Council's Sanitary Inspectors. It was not
necessary, during the year, formally to seize any unsound food offered
and exposed for sale. As a result of our visits and inspection of
suspect packs of foods, approximately 5 tons of various foodstuffs were
condemned and surrendered by the Vendors for destruction under our
supervision. Most of this condemned food was, in fact, found to be
due to faulty processing in manufacture.
