ANNUAL REPORT
of the
Medical Officer of Health for the Urban District of
Barking Town, in the County of Essex,
For the Year ending 31st December, 1920.
To the Chairman and Members of the Urban District of Barking
Town.
Mrs. Clarke and Gentlemen,
I beg to submit to you the Annual Report for the year 1920.
The present report follows the lines of that for 1919, that is,
while giving the essential details in tabular form of all activities
undertaken by the department, and other work bearing on the
health of the population, the main part of the report concerns
itself with the prevalence of, and means of dealing with, Tuberculosis
within the area. It is felt that if each subject were dealt with
in this manner, the volume of the report would pass all reasonable,
bounds. It is perhaps better to deal with one subject exhaustively
than to skim over the surface of many.
