Formal and Informal Samples
Four hundred and ninety-eight samples of food were submitted for analysis
during the year. A table identifying the commodities and showing the results is set
out below. The number of samples reported as unsatisfactory was 8.4 per cent of the
total submitted compared with 7.2 per cent for 1970.

In addition eighteen samples of foodstuffs and drugs were also examined by the Public Analyst in consequence of complaints.
