Burnt dough in bread and cakes is frequently mistaken for rodent dropping, and
all the complaints received alleging such contamination were found to be unfounded.
It is important that shopkeepers organise a coding system for perishable
foodstuffs, and ensure stock rotation in proper sequence. It is the failure to do this
which is responsible for the majority of complaints about stale or mouldy goods.
