Polio-Myelitis.
There were no cases of this disease during the year.
Erysipelas.
The notifications of erysipelas numbered 50, and there were 3 deaths.
Puerperal Fever.
The number of cases of this disease notified, viz., 10, was much above the
average. Two of the patients died. A nurse was sent in to one case, and paid
30 visits.
Measles and German Measles.
These conditions are not now notifiable. 1,770 cases were, however, reported,
328 voluntarily by doctors and parents and 1,452 by school teachers.
There were 46 deaths. The course adopted in relation to the cases was the
same as in previous years. Nurses were sent in to 26 cases, and 385 visits were
paid.
Whooping Cough.
Most of the information obtained with regard to this disease is derived from
the death returns, and during 1924 the number of deaths registered as due to
whooping cough was 3. In 1923 the number was 16.
Glanders and Anthrax.
No cases were notified.
Small Pox.
No cases were notified.
