The following table shows the distribution of the deaths according to age and compares 1915 with the two preceding years. The deaths under 1 year it will be noted are fewer than those for 1914:

causes of and ages at death will be found in Table III of the Local Government
Board series on page 63. The following notes are additional to the analysis given
there.
INFANTILE MORTALITY,
Infantile Mortality Rate.—The number of babies under 1 year who died
during 1915, was 178; in the same period the number of births was 1,852; the
infantile mortality rate was therefore 96.1.
