prefer to take advantage of the hospitality of their friends; this,
from a public health point of view, is unfortunate, but admits of
no remedy, since the system is voluntary. The baths have been
in full operation and had to be increased in number in the early
part of the year. It reflects no small credit on the management
that with only 11 baths (three for men, three for women, and five
for children) so much cleansing has been effected. Should the
proposed compulsory cleansing of filthy persons become law,
the appliances at Grove Road will be in this Borough available.

to the shelter and baths as follows:—

The Shelter.
The shelter was used 16 days during the year ending 31st
December, 1906, accommodating for various periods 15 Adults
and 6 Children.
