Births and Deaths.
During the four weeks ending February 27th there have been registered
203 births and 180 deaths.
These births and deaths are divided among the five sub-districts as set forth in Table IV.
Eighty of the deaths were extra parochial, as follows:—

The birth and death-rates, as deduced from the four weeks' statistics,
were as follows:—
All Souls, birth-rate 13.2; death-rate 15.1.
Rectory, birth-rate 10.5 ; death-rate 16.4.
St. Mary, birth-rate 22.8 ; death-rate 15.8.
Christ Church, birth-rate 25.3; death-rate 19.7.
St. John, birth-rate 26.7; death-rate 20.3.
The whole district, birth-rate 19.8; death-rate 17.5.
The average death-rates for five years (1897 to 1902) for the corresponding
period were as follows:—All Souls, 17.6; Rectory, 33.4; St. Mary, 20.1;
Christ Church, 25.0; St. John. 18.7 ; the whole district, 21.3.
