Births and Deaths.
During the five weeks ending January 30th there have been registered
274 births and 263 deaths. These births and deaths are divided among the
five sub-dislricts as set forth in Table III, Ninety-five of the deaths were
extra-parochial, as follows:—

The birth and death-rates, as deduced from the five weeks' statistics,
are as follows:—
All Souls, birth-rate 19.7; death-rate 19.7.
Rectory, birth-rate 16.2; death-rate 17.3.
St. Mary, birth-rate 21.8; death-rate 21.8.
Christ Church, birth-rate 27.1; death-rate 20.3.
St. John, birth-rate 17.8; death-rate 24.4.
The whole district, birth-rate 21.0; death-rate 20.5.
The average death-rates for five years (1898 to 1903) for the corresponding
period were as follows :—All Souls, 15.7; Rectory, 2.V2; St. Mary, 19.1;
Christ Church, 2.3; St. John, 232; the whole district, 20.5.
