Births and Deaths.
During the five weeks ending October 29th there have been
registered 281 births and 149 deaths. These births and deaths are divided

among the five sub-districts as set forth in Table IV. Fifty-two of the deaths were extra-parochial, as follows:—

Thee birth and death-rates, as deduced from the five weeks' statistics, are
as follows:—
All Souls, birth-rate 18.2; death-rate 0.94.
Rectory, birth-rate 14.7 ; death-rate 11.0.
St. Mary, birth-rate 30.4 ; dentil-rate 13.2.
Christ Church, birth-rate 28.1 : death-rate 11.8
St. John, birth-rate 15.8 ; death-rate 14.3.
The whole district, birth-rate 2T9; death-rate 11.6.
The average death-rates for five years (1899 to 1903) for the corresponding
period were as follows:- All Souls, 13.1; Rectory, 13.7; St. Mary, 14.2;
Christ Church, 18.5; St. John, 14.3; the whole district, 14.9.
