June Quarter.
April was fairly bright but cool. The month was unusually
dry, there being only 7 rainy days and a total rainfall
of 0.44 inch. The minimum temperature was 300; maximum
60.0°; mean 44.8°. The winds were N. and N.E.
May was cooler and moister than April. There were
no less than 17 rainy days, with a total rainfall of 1.65 inch.
The minimum temperature was 32.2°; maximum 67.8°;
mean 48.2°. The winds were W. and S.W.
June was also wet, having 16 rainy days and a total
rainfall of 2.67 inches. The minimum temperature was
39.2°; maximum, 76.0°; mean, 53.00.
September Quarter.
July was unsettled but there was a good deal of sunshine,
and taken as a whole the climate of the month was agreeable.
The minimum temperature was 44.5°; maximum 84.5°;
mean 66.00. Heavy showers of rain fell on 6 days, giving
a rainfall of 1.57 inches.
August was damp and unsettled. On no less than 19
days more or less rain fell, giving a rainfall for the month
of 2.62 inches. The winds were mostly South-Westerly.
September was an average month, but deficient in sunshine.
The minimum temperature was 40.0°; maximum
71.50; mean 47.40.
december quarter.
October was a month of moderate temperature and
small rainfall. There were 9 rainy days. Total rainfall,
0.91 inch. The minimum temperature was 35.00; maximum
60.0°; mean 50.0°.
November was almost free from fog and fairly dry.
There were only 5 rainy days, the total rainfall measuring
0.9 inch.
December was for the first 2 weeks dry and cold, then
afterwards warmer and moister. During the two frosty
weeks the thermometer sank to 25 but the mean for the
whole month was 43.6° with a maximum of 54.0°. There
were 9 rainy days, during which 1.06 rain fell.
The sky was usually overcast, hence but little sunshine
was registered.
