SECTION 23 - MIDWIFERY SERVICE
The Metropolitan District Nursing Association continued to provide domiciliary midwifery
services in the City. No request for midwifery services within the Temples was made.

The midwives continued to visit St. Bartholomew's Hospital maternity department in order
to promote closer liaison between hospital and domiciliary midwifery services and to attend
deliveries of City mothers who have been accepted for discharge home after 48 hours.
Midwives Act, 1951
The Corporation, as the supervising Authority for the City of London, received from midwives
50 (44) notifications of intention to practise during the year.
